Melinda's First Ghost is the fifteenth episode of the first season of the CBS series, Ghost Whisperer, originally premiering on January 27, 2006. The episode was written by Catherine Butterfield and directed by Peter Werner and received a total of 11.63 million viewers. Melinda remembers how her relationship with her mother got strained when she re-encounters the first ghost she ever saw. When younger, Melinda's mother could not deal with her daughter's prodigious and supernatural gift. This lead to a growing rift between the two. Now Melinda must reunite with her estranged Mother to help save the spirit of this young girl.
