Drowned Lives is the third episode of the second season, and the twenty-fifth overall episode, of the CBS series, Ghost Whisperer, originally premiering on October 6, 2006. The episode was written by Jed Seidel and directed by Ian Sander, and recieved a total of 9.77 million viewers.

When Melinda goes to visit friends who are experiencing problems with their house, she finds the ghost of a six-year-old little girl who drowned. Melinda then tries to help the family of the little girl.

Plot Synopsis[]

At Melinda's antique shop, she finds Emily Morrison's hand sticking out of a bowl of water, and at the family pool, she appears into magic, shushing Melinda. At home Emily appeared again, then Melinda says "There's a little girl in the house!!"


Emily died a few years before by drowning in her pool. She was attempting to get a ball that was floating in the pool, but she fell in and drowned. While her older brother tried to save her, he didn't succeed. She haunts her family's former house, not crossing over until her father read her "Good Night Moon" one last time. When she see's her family again together she remember's her experience of dying and reminds her family that they all still care for one another like she does. While her father reads her the book, she sees the light and is able to be in peace since she knows that her family will be alright.
