Big Chills is the second episode of the fourth season, and the sixty-fourth overall episode, of the CBS series, Ghost Whisperer, originally premiering on October 10, 2008. The episode was written by Laurie McCarthy and directed by Peter Werner, and recieved a total of 9.69 million viewers.

A popular former classmate, Grace Adams, contacts Melinda because she thinks her dead friend, Lucas, is haunting her after discovering his body. Secrets come to light that Grace, Lucas, and another friend have covered up an accidental death that happened ten years ago instead of reporting it to the police. The plot line of the hit-and-run is similar to the plot line in I Know What You Did Last Summer, which Jennifer Love Hewitt starred in.

  • Many actors in this episode are associated with actress Neve Campbell in some way. Jennifer Love Hewitt was on Party of Five with her. Jeremy London, Jason London's twin brother, was also on Party of Five playing Neve Campbell's boyfriend. Christian Campbell is Neve's real-life brother. And Jamie Kennedy was in Scream & Scream 2 with her.
  • In the episode, Melinda flips through Hamilton High's 1998 yearbook. Assuming she was eighteen at the time, in 2008 she would be 28 years old.
  • The title Big Chills is an allusion to the 1983 movie, The Big Chill in which a group of college friends gather for a weekend for the funeral of a former classmate.
